There could be some very good potential for this mantel clock. Outside cherry or walnut casing looks good- some scratches, nics, dirt in crevices, dust, rough edges- a good cleaning and polishing would do it justice- I will post pics, of course, please make sure you view them. Glass is in very good shape- dirt. Front door opens and closes securely with no issues. There is a hinge off on the back door so that needs to be fixed- when opening back door it hangs. Metallic dial has some scratches on it- mostly around the hand well. Hands move back and forth with no issues. I also was able to make it chime- nice sound. Gold tone movement does not look bad- toning, dirt in crevices, fading. Overall I do not think it would dissapoint as a parts item or possible restoration. WORKINGS- I AM UNCERTAIN OF THE WORKINGS OR IF THIS WILL WORK BUT I WOUND THE CLOCK- BOTH SIDES- PLACED IT ON THE FLOOR AND IT DID NOT WORK. WHEN I LIFT IT UP AND PLACED IT ON THE TABLE THE CLOCK STARTED TO WORK AND MOVED THE HANDS- I ONLY WATCHED IT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. SO GIVEN WHAT I JUST SAID I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THIS CLOCK NEEDS TLC AND DOES NOT PROPERLY WORK BUT THERE ARE MOVEMENTS.
