Ready to ink & Write :-) Very nice Working antique Waterman Pen , ~ with a VERY Nice 14K Gold Ideal Nib with long tines, that has some wear but is straight & crack free & has very good iridium and nice flex to it. quite smooth for a fine point , very good working filling mechanism , some of these early PSF pens had a more traditional inner lever spring instead, This was used before the pressure bars system and this is one of those early versions, Good Spring , work well :-) , Feed & section have been cleaned, It has a high quality ink sac just installed.

This is a pen to use. a Collectible & a User Grade pen :-) , The cap and barrel are excellent and crack free, perfect cap lip , there is fade to dark brown, the chasing is all clear, the factory imprint is very clear with the Ideal Globe and 1884,1899, & 1903 patent dates - , also the 12 PSF model designation is very clear, the 12 PSF (Pocket Self Filler) is the predecessor to the Waterman 52 1/2V , therefor older than the 52 1/2V, but is very comparable in size to a 52 1/2V

This pen originally never had a pocket clip (no holes for a clip), and it never had ring top, Original clip-less cap, But it has a sturdy accommodation pocket clip that fits this pen perfectly and is very functional, The clip is contemporary to the pen, Clip shown age spotting, Patina, the clip can be removed if desired, Clips like this are getting very hard to find and are rare collectibles them selves.

IDEAL #2 Nib, 14K , Nice long tines, smooth Fine point with VERY good iridium, a very good performer. It is NOT AT ALL a wet noodle, But what I would consider it a bit more than semi flexy & with very nice line variation, pushing 1.5 mm with out over flexing, you will still have control for every day fine point writing, But when you want some line variation, it goes from a fine point to a wider line as shown with medium to heavier pressure, it will provide excellent line variation & expression.

Great for doodling , sketching , or every day fine point note taking and/or expressive letter writing :-) copperplate / Spencerian, (Also writes a nice XX-Fine Hair line upside down:-)

The Paper is from a Rhodia Dotpad No. 16, the dots are 5mm apart to help you gauge the line variation. The inks are Waterman South Sea Blue & Diamine Jade Green & Ancient Copper.

The pen is approx 4 & 5/16\" capped, and 5 & 9/16\" posted. Fits my hand well when posted.
