For your consideration we are offering this antique c.1800s Wavecrest Egg Carton Shaped Biscuit Jar. The piece has a lovely two tone color that starts at the top and bottom of the jar with an antiqued cream color that transitions to a soft white at the center. In the center is a hand painted pair of roses with soft green and brown foliage on one side and a lone rose with greenery on the opposite side. The very top of the jar has a silver plate lid with twisted handle. \"Printed inside the lid is New Amsterdam Silver Co. Quadruple Plate\". There is tarnish to the lid, collar, and handle which I have left to retain the as-found antique look. It will polish up like new if you choose! The inside of the lid is dented in a couple of places but it fits jar just fine and they are invisible when the top is in place. The glass on the biscuit jar does not have any nicks, chips or cracks and in overall excellent condition. The piece measures approximately 11\" inches from the bottom to the top of the handle and 5\" inches across the widest points. There are no markings on this piece with the exception of the stamp inside the lid. This is a gorgeous jar that will sure to be a lovely addition to your collection.
