Offered for sale is a WEDGWOOD 1933 ERLING (ERIC) OLSENART DECO MATT GREEN GLAZE CIGARETTE BOX.This beautiful and scarce box measures 4.5 x 4.5 x 2 inches. The box top features a sculptural relief of apelican. Two sides feature a fish and abird and the other two sides feature a fish and the sun. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracksor repairs—there is fine subtle crazing.The top edge of the box bottom has a tiny frit which is smooth, so itmay be from the manufacturing process—see picture #6. On the top right corner of the box top, thereis a hard to see tiny dark line under the glaze—see picture #7. These are of no detriment and mentioned fortotal accuracy, as this is a rare and striking box. The bottom has impressed date markings of7B33 dating this to 1933.

Erling (Eric) Olsen served as a freelance artist forWedgwood from 1931-1935. Wedgwood referencebooks document and picture his work which resembled that of Keith Murray. The last 3 pictures are from 3 different Wedgwoodreference books, and this cigarette box is shown in the last picture.
