WELLINGTON LIGHTER KOREA 224th INFANTRY REGIMENT H COMPANY :
$40.00

This sale is for a rare Wellington lighter! It was made for the Soldiers in the Korean War! The 224th INFANTRY REGIMENT H COMPANY!! It has no name on it, its original owner is unknown to me. Most Soldiers got their lighters before hitting the battlefields! It looks like it has signs of battlefield wear, from all the times the Soldier jumped out of reality! And some signs of battlefield frustration. On the bottom it has some small dents along the edge, possible several whacks from a bayonet, See the photos! And the flame guard that surrounds the wick is a bit bent, probably from someone squeezing reallyhard trying to get the inner part out fora fluid refill. I guess that failed, so it got some whacks on the bottom trying to dislodge the center part. I had no problems taking the center part out, I used a finishing nail or a small itty bitty screwdriver to pull it out. I stuck the nail in a hole onone side of the flame guard and througha hole on the other side. It pulled right out! The pin that holds the hinge infor the flip top needs an adjustment/repair.A watchmaker or lighter repair personshould be able tofix that with no problem, I do not want to fix or alter it myself. The flame guard could probably be straightened out also, if wanted. The flint sparks! It is unknown to mefor what is needed to get it started. The bottom says BOX 1064 WELLINGTON TOKOYO JAPAN!The front has the 224thInfantryRegiment emblem on it. It is a simpledesign, I looked their emblem up online. It has a blue Long HornSteer with an arrow and otherdesign in the top left corner. And under that it saysPERSEVERANTIM TRIUMPHAT.It has a very simpledesign! The back side says H COMPANYon the lid, and the bottom says 224th INF. REGIMENT KOREA 53.Lots of the blue paint in the lettering still exists. I have had it in my possession for a long time. The 224th were involved in the battles of The Punch Bowl and Heart Break Ridge. Lots of history here, and I encourage any perspective buyer to do some research also, maybe a Google Search! See photos and do not hesitate to ask any questions. Sold as is, USA sales and shipping only.
