The West German \"Bundeswehr\" (armed forces) tried to avoid camouFlage items in the early 1960s, as they were deemed too martial and evocative of the old regime. One exception was a reversible green/red \"amoeba\" camouFlage zeltbahn, or shelter half, specially designed with a neck opening to allow it to be worn as a poncho. This West German 1960s REVERSIBLE GREEN/RED AMOEBA CAMO ZELTBAHN is in very good condition, with a small tear in the upper right front and the lower middle right back, some scattered brownish and dark soiling around the front, some scattered whitish spot soiling at back, a small tear extending the button hole at the lower back right edge, a small chip to the button at the upper back right edge, a bit of a rough seam at the bottom middle left back,some light denting to some of the buttons,and with some light overall age wear evident (most pictured). Otherwise, the zeltbahn is in fine shape, with no other damage to the crisp cotton construction. Most interestingly, it retains nearly 100% of the vibrant amoeba camouFlage colors at both sides, sports all of the original metal grommets and \"pie tin\" buttons throughout, and is a fine example of a rare, originalWest German 1960s REVERSIBLE GREEN/RED AMOEBA CAMO ZELTBAHN.
