An ornate original 1925Prohibition Prescription for Spirits Frumenti, the US pharmaceutical term forWhiskey...Oi (pint)...Sig: Tablespoonful in hot lemonade (rare) at night!This prescription was used for a short period of time during the Prohibition, between 1924 and 1925. Also, the doc had beautiful penmanship! Please see photos!From the days of Al Capone, speakeasies and moonshine this was the only legal way to drink liquor in the US!

The whiskey was prescribed for Luther Jones, by Dr. Harvey R. Bauman, of Hawley Inn, on February 4, 1925and was filled on February 5,1925 by Pharmacist, Charles H. Freethy, of Hawley, PA.It was issued by the Treasury Department and is printed on fancy, beautiful paper, that was also used for U.S. currency. In the center is the old Treasury Seal with the Latin inscription, \"Thesaur. Amer. Septent. Sigil.\". When you hold this prescription up to the lightPROHIBITION is watermarked, as with the metal strips that are used in U.S. bills today, the graphics are GREAT!The prescription measures 6 1/2\" x 4 3/8\", has onefold, some wear on the two right corners/border, light bendsand a spindle hole, otherwise, condition is excellent...a great1925 Prohibition prescription!This is a FANTASTIC piece of history and would be great to display in a pharmacy, doctor\'s office, museum, bar or office!
