***Re-framed in modern, acid-free materials + matte with troth so this work will not accumulate pastel on the 99% UV protective glass.(The white \"blotch\" in signature Photo 2 is from my flash camera and is NOT on the work of art.)

***The frame itself is NEW but is period-consistent to the work of art. The high quality frame could hang in a museum and cost over $300 (paper work provided).

***Provenance concerning Thompson is remarkable. He was a PROFESSIONALAmerican artistwho earned his living through his art work.He started as a13-year oldrunaway from Philadelphia who was taken in byChandler in his NYC studio. Thompson studied under Chandler and attendend two NYC art / design schools.Thompson hand-made ALL ofhis ownmaterials: pastels and art boards, including thepastels and art board in this work. Thompson served in WWI and suffered a mustard gas attack thatalmost blinded him. What a LOSS that would have been.
