Winchester Model 95 "Russian Musket" Bayonet
You are offerding on a bayonet for a Winchester Model 95 "Russian Musket". The rifles were manufactured between 1915 and 1917 for a military contract with the Russian Empire. They were equipped with full length stocks extending to nearly the muzzle, and fitted with bayonet lugs. This bayonet was manufactured during the Russian contract, and would have been shipped over before the end of 1917. No scabbard is included.
This bayonet is in excellent condition, when considering its approximately 100 year age. The blade and grip fittings are brightly polished, original to the bayonet. Grips are intact and tight to the hilt. The locking mechanism moves smoothly and without binding, and the locking spring is strong. The blade does not appear to have been sharpened or ground since leaving the factory. Aside from a dark patch near the tip, the blade shows only minor handling wear. Overall, an excellent example of an interesting piece of Winchester and Russian history.
