Born October 22, 1928 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Walter Jason and Mary Belle (Bough) Boling.

She was a homemaker. As a young woman at the Crane Navy Ammunition Depot, she manufactured the ammunition that helped defeat the Axis Powers during WWII. In the early 1950\'s while living in the Chicago, Illinois area, she and her husband Chuck fronted a Country & Western band where she performed as a lead singer, her voice often being compared to that of Kitty Wells. A near-death experience with hepatitis ended a promising career. Upon recovery, she focused upon the upbringing of her five children and supporting her husband in his business interests. When returning to Indiana in 1961 and settling in Vincennes, she continued to be both a homemaker and business manager for her husband\'s service station businesses. Widowed in 1995, she married Dale Whittington of Sandborn a few years later and enjoyed a satisfying life with him until his death.
