My mother bought this coat in 1946, after World War II. She saw it a store window, bought it immediately, wore it for one season, and then hemlines dropped and it was instantly out of fashion. She loved this coat and she kept it in her closet for 40 years, and I\'ve kept it in mine for 20, on a wooden hanger and in a cedar storage bag. It\'s time to send it on to somebody who will love it as much as my mother did. It is a spring coat, light wool, has all its buttons, is beautifully lined, although there is one small rip in the lining, about two inches long. Outside of that, it is in beautiful condition, I never wore it, it was too big for me. My mother was 5\'6\', and it came to her knees. There is no size label, but the sleeve length is 22 inches, it is 13.5 across the shoulders, and 39 inches from under the collar to the hem. My mother was slim. I measured from underarm to underarm, 14 inches, and from the hips, 15 inches. I should also say that the tear in the lining is not so much a tear as the stitches. loosening, I calculated today the coat is 71 years old. The colors are still very vibrant.
