This is a very interesting and different style of Grocery Store. It has an Art Deco look to it with 2 wallsand is open on 2 sides, instead of the usual store with 3 walls andsingle opening in the front.. The counter can be placed different ways as it is not attached. I will show a few pictures to demonstrate this. The back wall has 10 drawers with nice handles and nicely affixed German labels. They all open and close easily. There is a shelf to the left of the drawers with2 hooks so something canhang over the edge. There are a variety of food items, barrels,boxes, can goods, paper goods, food sacks, etc., that come with the store (about 23 in all, including the brass scale with weights in a wooden holder). Some of these sacks have interesting designs and I took a close up of those so you can see how nice they look.
The store is 21 1/2\" wide and 12\" deep measuring the base and 10 1/2\" tall.
Some of my pictures show a pot bellied stove that came with the store. It is not very good and israther common. Since it would have to be shipped separately due to the weight, it is hardly worth it. I am selling it separately in case someone should want it. I just show it in one of the pictures to show how it could be used, but does not come with the store, just all the other items shown. I will also have a store clerk and customer, but they also do not come with the store. It again just shows how it could look with people added to the setting. The dolls are not being sold at this time.
Like many old toys like this, it does have a history. It was originally a peach and ivory color, but fortunately someone painted it over in a nice more pleasing shade of gray with the off white or ivory. There is a bread box in the center and when removed, you can see the original colors. There may have been other things that were changed over the years.
