For sale here is a wooden sign with an enlarged image from a vintage postcard featuring;Lady Liberty Honoring Memorial Day This one measures roughly 8 inches x 12 inches. The sign reads \"Yet who would hold his dearest back, and who would count his loss but gain\" \"In Memory of our Heroes\" \"Memorial Day.\" If you are a gold or silver star family let us know, please. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to honor your sacrifice and our beloved brethren. This is not from China or simply a piece of paper pasted to some kind of crummy particle board. These are gorgeous. Please understand that these have a rustic rugged style to them, they are not perfect by design. Please expect a dinged corner, score in the wood, or some other minor character additions to the piece. We believe these small details add a nice antiqued look to the pictures and create them intentionally. We will be listing a many more patriotic and military pictures over the next few days, including signs featuring Benjamin Franklin, Abe Lincoln, Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, Dan Daly (MoH x2) John Basilone (MoH, Guadalcanal WW2), Smedley Butler (2xMoH, Boxer Rebellion/Banana Wars/ WW1) , Chesty Puller (5 Navy Cross citations / 3 wars), Carlos Hathcock (Vietnam Sniper - 93 confirmed Kills - Silver Star, Purple Heart) and some more Soldiers; Patton, York, Murphy, and even some NASA stuff. Each sign is a little different because they are handmade. They are really great looking, much better in real life than in the photos. Not Chinese particle boards orcompressed sawdust MDFs. They are much better looking in real lifeand have a nice poly coat which gives them a vivid shine.

BE ADVISED

Since these areindividually hand made, and not mass stamped out in some mechanizedAsian consumer crapola factory somewhere, they tend to vary a littlebit. They aren\'t all cut exactly like the one in the picture, themargins vary from thin to wide depending on the cutter and piece ofwood used, the woods also naturally vary in grain and color, and thepoly coats may go on thinner or thicker depending on the humidity ofthe air and the brush stroke of the creator. These signs areconstructed of real hardwoods here in the U.S.A., not Chinese particle boards orcompressed sawdust MDFs.

Each one is unique and none of them will beexactly alike.

About our process.

The woods are first super heated,right here in our shop, in order to remove any remaining moisture orwater vapors. They are then checked for excessive warping and giventime to cool. The images are then infused directly into the woodusing a propriety process. The complete signs are then cut to sizebefore being sealed with a protective polyurethane coat that bothprolongs the life of the piece, and lets it shine, allowing thecolors in the image to really \'pop.\' After a day of drying, a handwound wire hanger is finally added to each one before being packed toship. If you prefer not to have a hanger attached that is fine,please let us know when ordering.

Custom Work

If you have an idea for a sign let us know! If we think it is a good (and legal) one we willmake it, list it, and notify you when it is available for sale. Ifit\'s not a \'lister,\' we can still create custom signs for your unit,veterans group, or family event. In those cases there is a minimum$25 set-up fee and you must supply the artwork used. Your image mustbe at least larger than 700 x 700 pixels, and even then, not allimages will work. Please contact us for details or a quote.

Current domestic shipping on one sign is rapidly nearing an average of $5.00, this does not include the cost of packing materials, tape, bubble wrap and time. In most cases, actual shipping costs approach $7.00 and have already been discounted on this item.
Please consider the current inflated American lumber, steel, and polyurethane prices when assessing the cost of construction.
Remember, a cheaply stamped out Taiwanese sign of the same size on MDF particle board from the local wally world can\'t be purchased for less than around $20. Yeah but, that one features an amazing image of some fierce grapes in an awesome bowl!
