Great looking and very solid vintage brass lighter.It works very well. (The flint wheel action takes a bit of practise.) Takes a standard sized flint.
Imco style wicks work well. Zippo wicks are too thick to fit.The fill screw cap on the bottom is marked \"Ajax Royal\".
There are scratches on the lighter\'s sides. You could probably polish or sand them out. (See photos.)(I found the info below online.) The \'Ajax Royal\' pocket lighter was manufactured in Besançon--a city in Eastern France. It was produced by the firm Francois Miserez (FM) during the late 1940s or early \'50s,The Ajax features a concealed mechanism with an enlarged striking wheel placed so the thumb naturally opens the snuffer when the wheel is struck to light. It\'s a very clever \'one motion\' manual mechanism complimented by the lighter\'s distinctive, slender design. The flint and fuel chambers are both accessed from the base.Will ship without petrol.
