This is a great example of WW2 \"trench art\". I bought this at an estate sale for a WW2 veteran. My research on this from lots of Googling is that the Seabees were skilled craftsmen and after the island was secure, they would make molds and use aluminum from downed aircraft to make these in their spare time.

looks like it may have been adhered to a plaque at some time. It is about 5 inches long.
