Genuine, authentic, originalhand signedphotograph ofHeer Generaloberst Rudolf Schmidt.
Schmidt was a highly decorated German Army tank troop division, army corps and tank troop field armycommanderduring WW2.
Schmidtwas bestknown in WW2 as the commander of the First Panzer Division in the Battle of France, and XXXIV Panzer Corps and 2nd Panzer Army on the Eastern Front.
Because of his tank troop military successes, he would receive the Panzer Badge in Silver.
Because of his extreme personal bravery and successful military leadership in combat, Schmidt was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oakleaves...one of only 863 soldiers to receive this honor during the War!
The 3.5 x 5 inchglossy black and white photograph shows Schmidt in his Heer Generals uniform wearing his Knights Cross with Oakleaves and other awards, and he has signed his name and rank as Generaloberst and dated the photograph April 6 1942 (in the field combat in Russia), all in blue fountain pen ink. The foto is in very good/fine condition.Schmidt israre in signed Warvintage photographs. Along with a modern unsigned print of Schmidt in discussion with Der Fuhrer. Total: 2 items.
