This sale is for a United States Second World War era Model 1943 Folding Shovel entrenching tool. This shovel was manufactured by Wood in 1944. The shovel is not locked up, and still folds just fine. The handle use to be painted olive drab green. The metal parts are oxidized due to the extreme age of the item. There are two holes drilled through the shovel head. I have seen Korean War era M-1945 shovels with larger holes closer to the edge. It might have been for some purpose, maybe for hooks to help pull the shovel head out of the ground easier? This is a 70 year old well used shovel from the Second world War. I show refrence photos from books that are not offered for sale with this shovel.

Condition:

Normally I have old used items in bad to good Used Condition. They typically are in used condition and may have defects such as \"stains, moth holes, dirt, dents, scratches, etc. These items are 70 years old and things slowly get destroyed by time. Please do not expect something in new condition. These items are in used condition.\"

Shipping:

Shipping will be done via the US Postal Service. Priority Mail will be the means of shipping and Delivery Confirmation will be used. Overseas buyers will have a United States Customs Declaration Form Tracking Number. The item weighs around 5 lbs in an open box as a rough weight for listing purposes. I won\'t know the shipping weight until the item is taken to my local post office. I am not an employee of the USPS and the weight is just a rough measurement for listing purposes. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME PAYMENT UNTIL I SEND YOU AN INVOICE FIRST!!!!!!!!!!! The Shipping amount is just a rough guess based on the weight of the item in an open box. I only package an item after it sells and then take it to the post office so the clerk can inform me of the correct shipping amount. Then I send the buyer an invoice with the correct shipping amount. I am not doing this as a business, I am just some guy trying to sell off my private collection of Militaria in order to try and pay some bills. I am using as a garage sale. If I can use a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate box to send the item in, I\'ll mail it in one of those. A Small Priority Mail Flat Rate box costs $5.95 to mail within the United States. A Medium Priority Mail Flat Rate box costs $12.65 to mail within the United States. A Large Priority Mail Flat Rate box costs $17.90 to mail within the United States. I don\'t know overseas prices, but I do know it costs $61.75 to mail a Medium Priority Mail Flat Rate box to the following nations. (Brazil, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Netherlands, Australia, and Taiwan.)
