RARE WW2 USMC 2nd Pattern Canteen Set
Condition: Excellent. The canteen cover has some small amounts of wear, including some wear marks throughout the surface of thecover, 2 spots on the back of the cover that have been stitched, and the cover has no fading of the khaki color. The brass snaps are working great, free from rust! The canteen is in excellent shape, with only a few sports of damage to the porcelain coat, and the cup is mostly free from dents.
2nd Pattern USMC covers were made in the early years of WW2. As with most 2nd pattern covers, the depot markings have worn off. The porcelain canteen is marked: U.S. S.M. CO. 1942, and the canteen cup is marked: U.S. EDWARD KATZINGER CO. 1942. These original, early war USMC sets with theporcelaincanteens are exceedingly difficult to find,especially in this condition, so don\'t miss out on this one!!
