This listing represents a first for me. It also represents a getting much harder to locate, World War I AEF Officer or Doughboy\'s Canvas Field Gear Equipment. It is a must have for the serious American Expeditionary Forces and Combat Collectors. Here you have a WWI AEF Officer\'s Canvas Web Pistol Belt. It is US Stenciled with an inked number. The belt is in about excellent condition, especially given its age.

The Doughboy\'s Pistol or Utility Belt features the desired light khaki web canvas material with brass grommets, brass slides and brass buckles. The brass components retain most all of their paint. There is whitish oxidation to the brass. The belt secures easily. The grommets are there to hang a holster, canteen, clip pouch, bandage pouch, and compass from the belt.

All the grommets are intact. The slides can we worked to shorten or lengthen the belt. It measures approximately 44 inches in overall length. There are no major stains, soiling nips, fraying or tears. There is some staining to the top edge of the belt (that is looped to the interior). The interior also has the number 5748 inked. This is most likely an ID Code.

The last US Veteran of the 1st World War, a Corporal who served in France, died a couple years ago. Shortly thereafter the last British Sailor (who saw combat) and a Woman who served in RAF also passed, closing out the passing of a generation.
