We are selling aWWI German Quillback Bayonet~M1898 New Pattern(n.A.)~W/ Scabbard. The item has been previously owned before but it is still in good condition. We have identified the bayonet as the new patterned by the way the handle is made of two halves from wood. The two-piece grips were first introduced in 1902. This specific bayonet was meant for the 88mm. Mauser Gewher 98 made by Simon & Co Suhl (who also made these bayonets). The engraving on the blade spine has a crown over \"W\" over \"14\" there are also other marks throughout the bayonet of a crown over a Gothic \"n\". The scabbard that comes with the blade has an engraving of 2 G.G but we have yet to know what that signifies. Cosmetically, the blade does have some marks on it due to the storage and age but it is still in great visual condition. Overall, this bayonet is great for collectors!
