From the estate of a Navy Seabee stationed in the South Pacific during WWII, offered here is an invitation to an Officer\'s Club dance hosted by the Naval Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit 535 (C.B.M.U.). A sketch of the club is shown in the upper left. In small lettering at the bottom right, it says \"C.B.M.U. 535-542\" and \"C.B.D. 1019-A.\" \"CBD\" may stand for \"Canadian Based Detail.\" The date for the dance was October 8, 1944.
The invitation measures 5\" x 3-1/2\" and has no damage. There are two tiny spots (stains) on the paper.
