Vintage tin litho garage with 2 pressed metal car set. Made in 1938-39 by Wyandotte Toys as set #501.
- The garage has two doors that open in the front. The door on the left is original. The other was made out of metal with a latch and painted similar to the original, but the green is not a perfect match (but still looks good). The two sides of the garage have the same design on each side and Service Station with gas pumps and hoist with a car on it on the back side. The \"WyandotteToys Made in U.S.A.\" circle logo is also there. The garage shows normal wear and scratches on bottom. Several light scratches to the litho and finish of garage could use a little cleaning to shine the finish. All graphics are in good condition. The garage is 3 1/2 inches high, 3 7/8 inches wide and 4 3/4 inches deep.
- There are 2 vehicles (coupe and convertible). The convertible is about 4 1/4 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide. It has white wooden tires with metal axles with built in spacers. It was bead blasted to remove original lead base paint and then professionally repainted midnight blue (almost black color) and detailed nicely with chrome stripping (chrome accents are easily removed if not desired).
- The coupe car is the same size as convertible. The car was also glass bead blasted to remove the original paint and then was professionally repainted in a gloss black paint and detailed in chrome accents. It has black rubber tires and metal spacer axles.
- See pictures for more detail and information. Great looking set. Displays very nicely. Hinges for doors on garage are in good condition, so if an original door was found somewhere, it would fit nicely.
