Yaesu FT-8500 VHF/UHF Deluxe Dual Band Mobile Transceiver This is a fantastic TRUE dual band radio with TONS of features. Among many other things, it supports cross-band repeater, spectrum scope display, and DTMF text messaging, which is very cool. It has an excellent RF section. The faceplate can separate from the main unit for remote mounting with the optional remote cable (I don\'t have it). The FT-8500 is unique in that ALL functions can be controlled from the microphone, including audio volume!
The dial knob is finicky and skips when turning it to change frequency, but normally you will be using the mic for everything anyway (if it wasn\'t for that the price would be higher). The radio shows cosmetic signs of use, but is in overall good condition and works great. Comes as you see in the photos, with MH-39 remote control mic and mobile bracket.
