Asian Botanical Woodblock Print on Silk yellow orchid Calligraphy Red Seal.

Description:

Listed here is a woodblock botanical print on silk featuring a white and yellow orchids and greenery. I have been unable to identify this print or the artist. It is different than the other woodblock prints I have listed for this client. I uploaded an image of this print to the Japanese woodblock print site and the print was not recognized.

This image appears to be printed on silk and is mounted on a fabric covered board. The fabric on the backer board is textured and has a dragon motif.
There is extensive calligraphy in the far left corner. I am not sure if this is Japanese or Chinese.
A Red seal is also visible above the calligraphy.
The orchid print is 12\" x 17\".
The backing sheet is 15.5\" x 20\".
The colors are bright.
There are some small holes, fabric loss, on the main image.
The backing sheet shows some soiling and rough edged.
Current owner has labeled this Japanese wood block print on the back.

This print was acquired by a local Memphis area art teacher because he admired the work. He has now decided it is time to downsize his collections. He does not recall details about how he acquired this print.
