Yonezawa - Smoking Space Robot Japan 1961 with Original Rare Box !This fantastic boxed Smoking robot was found in Italy near Milano a couple of weeks ago along with some other robots and space toys that I will list later this week.
Made In Japan by Yonezawa in the early sixties. This tin made robot is probably the most iconic robot from the sixties. Its all just.. robot ! :)In action the robot walks forward with swinging arms. Then he stops and starts to smoke while his eyes blink on and off.
when done smoking, the robot starts to walk again and repeats the sequence.The condition of this Smoking robot is all original and complete with a few minor flaws to mention. The robot is in working condition, walks and smokes with lighted eyes and lighted kaleidoscope dome. What is to mention about this Smoking Robot:one of the wheels is not rolling smoothly so you have to pay some attention to that, should not be a big deal, I have to mention it. The robot works strong and does really still produces smoke. clean battery compartments and an absolute above average example of this early smoking robot made by Yonezawa. The dome has some minor cracks, some glue and tape residue and looks to be glued to the robot. There is overall some light wear and some light scratches but overall condition is absolute excellent robot in working condition.The robot is however, accompanied by its original rare box. This box is seldom seen in the market, rare and very scarce box. The box is rough and has tape repairs, tears and wear. there is a section missing in one of the sidepanels.
Still... the most difficult box to find with this robot, still original and still a nice display box.Together an all original and complete Smoking Robot made by Yonezawa in Japan in the early sixties.Please refer to the pictures as they are part of the description.
