I buy vintage linens at local estate sales to pass on to you and find lovely antique and vintage garments.
This is a teddy or all-in-one from the 1920s. It still has an original label for size \"38\" but no label for maker? This is made of soft and incredibly light silk crepe in a blush pink color, and it has very lovely ecru lace trimming around the top. This is cut straight across the top with a narrow band 2\" band of lace all around with three large insets of lace flowers; you can adjust the fit at the top with a pink ribbon threaded through the lace, which ties on the left side of the front. The ribbon appears to be original. There are two shoulder straps made of pink satin ribbon. At the center front there are two clusters of three vertical tucks. Please check the photos to appreciate the details of the design. This falls straight to just below the waist level, where there are gathers on each side. It is long and somewhat full. At the bottom there is a shirttail-cut at the sides; the crotch has a circular tab and a hidden tab connecting front and back, as shown; if it bothers you to wear it this way, it would be easy to remove the tab and wear it as a slip.
measurements, all taken with the garment lying flat: 18\" across front at top; about 17.5\" across front at waist level; about 21.5\" across front at hip level; 25\" from top center to crotch bottom.
I have laundered and pressed this and found it to be in good condition. The fabric is soft and flexible, not brittle. The only issues are at the back, where there is an area of damage to the fabric on the left side near the underarm as shown in close up; there are two rips beginning. There is also a small hole at the small of the back, shown in the last photo.as shown in the last photo. However, the front is absolutely gorgeous!
