antique salamander floor safe lock assembly mid 1800\'s Evans and Watson:

Please read the entire description and view all of the photos. Internet search indicates this lock is from the mid 1800\'s. I am not an expert and do not claim to be. The lock experts here on iwill be able to identify this.

Cast iron, brass / bronze. The assembly has surface rust. When the brass knob is turned the assembly functions properly. I have not messed with the inner parts other than for photos. I have not attempted to clean or restore any of the parts. LOCK IS AS FOUND and REMOVED FROM THE SAFE.

This is the main outside door lock assembly from an Evans and Watson Salamander Floor safe. There are no numbers, letters or other identifying marks ANYWHERE on this safe. The only identification was the name plate on the outside of the safe - see the last photo. There was a large #3 on each of the hinges and no others numbers anywhere.

There is NO KEY with this lock. I will include the mounting screws/bolts. See photos with tape measure for size and dimensions. Weight is approx. 15 pounds when packaged for shipment.

The door was unlocked when the safe was discovered in an old barn. The safe itself was in poor condition. I am currently removing the large castors/wheels and the hinge finials for later sales.

FREE SHIPPING - Shipping by USPS flat rate priority is on me -and it will not be cheap - so feel free to offer away

Please view all of the photos and ask any questions before offerding. Thanks for looking.
