This listing is for a c.1890 MountWashington CROWN MILANOArt Glass cracker jar or biscuit barrel in the \"Starfish\" design.Measures5 1/4\" high to top of lid and9\" to the top of the handle.The silver plate collar has an embossed decorative rim attached to the body of the cracker jar. The handle is unusual with an elaborate design and the hinges operate smoothly. Thelid has an embossed floral design in high relief with abutterfly finial.There is no damage or repair on the silver plate collar, handle or lid.The body of the cracker jar ismade of opaque light cream colored glass and and the \"C M\" Crown stamp on the base. The body of the cracker jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The jar is used and there is minor wear on the design elements. There are no missing stones or jewels. There is a little missing gold paint here and there. See the photographs.
Overall, an excellent lightly used example of a very scarce pattern.
