25\" Splendid French-Market

\"W\" Alphabet Doll

By Limbach Porzellanfabrik

(Associated with J. Gotthelf Greiner & Family)

Bisque Head - Composition Jointed Body

Made in Germany - c.1900s

[ FEATURES AND DETAILS... ]

- This is a very unique and beautiful doll; she will surely make you smile each time you see her. From my research, she was made after the turn of the century, for the French doll market -- to compete with the French makers. You see her lovely facial expression and delicate high-quality painting. I love her dainty arched eyebrows and beautiful full original wig.

- She has the Limbach Porzellanfabrik markings: Cloverleaf with \"1772\"; crown above; \"Limbach\" name beneath. She is one of their gorgeous alphabet dolls (as you see -- the \"W\" above the crown).

- I had an expert give me her opinion on this doll. She agreed that this was one of their child character dolls of high quality.

- She\'s wearing a very old dress of blue organdy with white flowers and lace. She also has a half-slip, bloomers, socks, and old shoes. The bonnet is obviously newer -- intricate and professionally handcrafted, and it matches her very nicely!

- Stands Approx. 24.5\" Tall

The photo props are not included: Bird, nest, and eggs.

[ CONDITION... ]

- Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking Environment.

- She has a pin-size \"factory freckle\" near her chin, as you see.

- Bisque is lovely. Average age on the composition, but she has all her original fingers.

- Some age fading on dress

The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind that vintage/antique items always show their age. (Don\'t we all!?) It would be impossible to mention every tiny detail, so please expect that there will be something about this item (or lot) that\'s not perfect and may need touch-up.

PLEASE SUPERSIZE ALL PHOTOS, AND ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE offerDING/BUYING. I\'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER.

[ RETURN POLICY ON DOLL LOTS... ]

It is with deep regret that -- after 14 years selling on , and with 100% positive response-- I\'ve had to changemy return policy on dolls to \"NO RETURNS, AND NO PARTIAL REFUNDS.\"

As often happens, it\'s the few bad apples out there who ruin it for the rest of us. These dishonest people will buy a doll, then try to improve or restore it ... not knowing what they\'re doing. And then, when they realize they\'ve ruined the doll, they return it saying it was defective. Or else they keep the doll and demand a \"partial refund\" based on the alleged defect -- which is another trending scam on .

I sell these dolls for a living so, my sincere apologies to you -- the honest majority of buyers --that I can no longer afford to accept doll returns. (Of course, shipping loss or damage is a different matter; that is fully covered by insurance.)

BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT ...

I do bend over backwards, attempting to disclose any noteworthy condition issues I can find or think of. But these are antique and vintage dolls -- so, please understand that they won\'t be in brand-new condition. There will always be some minor indication of their age, and it would be impossible to itemize every single pinhead-size stain on the outfit, or hairline scratch on the body. Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls.
