The gooseneck lamp was manufactured by the Almond Manufacturing Co., Brooklyn, NY.
Itfeatures a weighted brass base supporting a fanciful twisted rope motif pole also in yellow brass.
The bright copper gooseneck arm remains flexible and in perfect shape.
Excellent condition flat green paintedparabola-shaped rolled rim shade signed Hubbell. The interior is off white enamel. No dents or damage to the exterior or interior of the shade.
This lamp isequippedwith the pull-chain electrical light socket that Hubbell patented in 1896.
The brass base is weighted resulting in a sturdy and reliable task lamp.
Historic facts:Thomas R. Almond (1855-1906) started his manufacturing company in Brooklyn, NY in 1879. In 1904, Almond sold his business to Carleton A. Hubbell who changed its name to T. R. Almond Mfg. Co. and later moved it to Ashburnham, MA That\'s from the 1999 Directory of American Toolmakers, a publication of the Early American Industries Association. The 1879-1904 represents a known period of operation tied to the Brooklyn address.
