There are no hairline cracks, no chips, no name or initials engraved and the pen is entirely original..

With the cap in place, the pen is 4 7/8\" long.

There is an imprint on the barrel that reads \"W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO. FORT MADISON, IOWA, U.S.A. PATENTED IN U.S.A. 875.\"

This is a plunger filling pen (thin steel rod). The filling mechanism will need to be restored to fill the pen with ink.

The huge 14K gold nib can be seen in the photo (it is part white gold and part yellow gold). It is is perfect condition, it has a medium point and it feels smooth on paper.
