c1850 Excellent VICTORIAN ROSEWOOD Mahogany Daguerreotype Antique Frame:

This is an excellent c1850 Victorian rosewood frame with excellent color and form. Beautifully grained rosewood veneer over a wide ogee form with a mahogany veneered top edge. These forms were frequently used for daguerreotypes and i would think with the addition of a mat and liner this could house a 1/2 plate. The frame is in excellent condition with minor wear and measures 11 1/4 x 12 with a 6 5/8 x 7 1/2 rabbet. This looks to have been resized and of course could be again. Square nailed, mitered corners with black painted sides. Beautiful period frame that\'s great for a dag or just about anything else.Please email with any questions.
