Circa 1850-60\'s sailor\'s hand-made maple rolling pin depicting whale and name of sweetheart \'Ellen.\" Measures approximately 16 1/2\" in length. Originated from a Cape Cod estate, Boston area. Mother-of-pearl end highlights. Guaranteed from the 1850-60\'s, old and original. In nice period condition, shows some normal wear. A great early example of sailor\'s folk art.
