This genuine Sampson Mordan Victorian silver propelling pencil measures 98mm (4\") open x 75mm (3\") closed and weighs 8 grams.It dates to around 1860 and has a seal end which unscrews to reveal the spare lead reservoir and a slide action to extend the mechanism. It is marked S.Mordan & Co and is in good antique condition with good detail to the engraving and both the lead propelling mechanism and the slide action working well.
