Abraham Lincoln is considered by many to be the United State\'s greatest president for leading the country through its greatest moral, constitutional, and political crisis and in doing so, preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy. One of the many well-deserved honors he has received was having his image appear on U.S. currency, specifically the penny and five dollar bill.

From the famous Mathew Brady portrait of Lincoln taken on February 9, 1864,used for the current $5 bill.

Beautiful original sepia toned oval albumen image of Lincoln surrounded by a strongly embossedpatriotic border ofpatriotic Union motifs including a spread eagle with shield on top and crossed American battle Flags with cannons on bottom.The Lincoln portrait shows a thin-faced Lincoln with short trimmed beardtaken during his second term campaign & was used as a patriotic pro-Lincoln administration campaign piece.
