A highly unusual Japanese lidded urn/vase, which we believe dates from the Meiji-era. The vase consists of 8 fluted panels that convex, resembling the shape of a pumpkin. The enamel is multi-coloured, displaying flowers and butterflies. The use of light blue, green and burgundy enamel suggests it is post-1880 and the use of inlaid copper wire that it is Japanese instead of Chinese. The condition of the vase is good with some slight damage to the base.Dimensions: 15 x 8.5 x 12cm
