Description:

An antique mahogany slide rule with celluloid facings and cursor and a conversion chart to the back, housed within it\'s original mahogany hinged case, dating to theearly 20th Century, circa 1900 - 1910.

There are no makers marks present, but this is typical of the long 20 inch or 50 cm slide rule made and retailed by Stanley of London.

The box has brass hinges, and catches to the front, and the etched name of the previous owner J. Home Dickson to the inside of the lid, and the initials JHD to the outside of the lid.

Length (case): 57 cm or 22 1/2 inches

Width (case): 7.5 cm or 3 inches

Length (rule): 54.4 cm or 21 1/2 inches

Condition:

In very good antique condition, working well. There is a small loss to the celluloid facing on the side rule at the 50 cm mark, otherwiseagood clean example. Please see the images provided which complement this description.
