Description:

A very pretty Art Deco period silver plate and enamel woven mesh miniature bag or purse, manufactured circa 1920 likely by the American firm Whiting and Davis, circa 1920.

The mesh body of the bag is painted in blue and black, with a pale blue silk interior. The fine silver plate purse mount is highly decorative, embossed with floral designs, and highlighted with pink and black enamel, the top clasp with blue cabouchon glass beads.

I have been unable to find any makers marks, but this design is likely by the American firm Whiting and Davis.

Condition:

A good collectable piece, the mesh without damage or restoration. There is some age related discolouration to the silk interior, but no damage. Some light wear to the enamel.Please see the images provided which complement this description.
