Rare and wonderful, ca1900 Ocean Liner, Triple Stack Steamship, Tin Windup Toy believed to have been manufactured by Georges Carette & Co. of Nuremberg, Germany. This fantastic, Tin Clockwork Steamship Toy measures approx. 9 1/2” long by 6 1/2\" tall (to the top of the Flagstaff) and 2 1/4\" wide at its widest. The Ship features a four blade propeller along with a swiveling rudder and an internal, key wind mechanism. The surface of the Toy is hand painted and Ship is made to travel through the water propelled by its mechanisms.

The Boat is unsigned by the manufacturer but the shape of the bow of the ship and the structures on the deck are identical to others we have seen on Toy Boats identified by experts as having been manufactured by Georges Carette & Co. We believe that this Steamship was made by Carette but would appreciate any information confirming this identification.

This wonderful, Windup Triple Stack Ocean Liner / Steamship Toy is in very good condition. It is in excellent, working order with no cracks, breaks, dents, physical damage or repairs of any kind. The windup mechanism is tight and strong and in good working condition. The surface of the Toy is 100% original and very well preserved with some scattered surface wear. The Toy retains its original key. It appears that the Flagstaff has been re-glued at the base and that the above deck cabin has been re-affixed to the deck. Overall the Ship displays beautifully.
