original civil war union marching drum in very good used remaining antique condition as shown. the older couple I got the drum from now in their golden years have decided its time to let some things go and now I have it. her husband a civil war buff decided to turn the drum into a side table many years ago. they have had the drum for about 50 years or so, so it was done sometime in the late 50s to early 60s time period. the dark brown wooden center is all original and the white painted tension hoops are original, the original red paint can be seen underneath so careful stripping will preserve it. the tension ropes and tabs are not original civil war era but have been on there for at least 50 years. plywood top and bottom added for the side table use as shown. the eye hole is blocked so I can\'t see the label if its there at all. nice restoration project if you like and want a real civil war drum. the drum measures approx. 14 1/4 up the side and 15 1/2 diameter across the top.
