Beautifully enamelled early and rare Marius Hammer Norwegian solid silver gilt bracelet . with marius hammer mark of upper case M and thors hammer and 830 silver standard mark.Impressively the central panel has a black enamel borde,r royal blue, white, turquoise and green enamel .All the enamel on the panels is undamaged . the central panel is 1 inch in diameter . All the panels are domed . With a traditional Scandinavian design similar to pre revolutionary Russian enamel. . The gilding is not particularly evident on the front where it is basically silver with a hint of gold more evident on the back. the borders of the panels are multi strand barley twist wires .I would say that the bracelet has been repaired by a professional silver smith in the past , I don\'t think that it would have had this type of fastening originally it has a hook and loop which actually are very effective as I have worn it around the house a bit to try it out , It was secure and did not some unfastened , also a repair to the back corner of one panel to put a new loop on . 6.75inches long so it would not fit a larger wrist , I found it very comfortable and my wrist is 6.7inches round but wouldn\'t fit any bigger but could be easily extended with a couple of silver loops added .It really is a lovely piece , Marius Hammer bracelets are extremely rare in this condition the enamel would normally get destroyed in every day wear and tear. the loops are not worn or thinned it has a loop for adding a safety chain. some fine scratches on the back of the panels.
