Up for sale is a 1/72 scale desktopmodel of the famous B-17 Flying Fortress heavy Bomber. The B17 was widely used throughout WW2 and had an outstanding reputation as a tough aircraft that could take tremendous damage and still return its crew to base.

The model is made of a solid wood which is heavier than Balsa. It represents the B-17G model with the chin machine gun turret in the nose. The model is painted in an overall olive drab paint scheme with accurate markings.Machine guns are made of wire and the various canopy areas are painted silver.

The model has two holes in the bottom of the fuselage for attaching astand but there is no stand included. The wingspan is about 17.5 inches and the length is about 12.5 inches which works out to the popular 1/72 scale widely used for aircraft models.

Model is in good condition but there is some cracking of the paint in spots along the major joints. These would be easy to touch up. The propellers are missing.
