offered is a fabulous art deco sterling silver 1930\'s or 1940\'s \"yendis\" retailed petrol table lighter. the solid silver lighter features large ribbed allover body design with long roller mechanism. the underside has an unusual swivel fuel door that is hinged and pulls up with excellent strong tension. the lighter is marked \"yendis\" paris and features workshop hallmark and french silver marks. i have shown \"yendis\" oversize body next to small version sterling nassau automatic lighter. the nassau is for size comparison only and not included in sale. i have also shown old \"yendis\" ads plus a french article featuring the luxury shop. \"yendis\" was known for high quality handbags - accessories - watches - and smokers articles. the lighter measures 3-1/2\" tall x 2-3/8\" wide and 7/8\" deep and is in very good used condition. the lighter mechanism throws a strong spark and should work with proper service of flint and fuel. the body has blotchy age tarnish that slightly detracts but should clean to sparkle with silver polish. the snuffer cap has excellent tension and features art deco initials. this luxury paris workshop solid silver table lighters is extremely rare and only one i\'ve seen in 40 years of collecting lighters. overall - a superb vintage french workshop \"yendis\" retail table sterling lighter for the best of collections.
