tiffany studios bronze counterbalance desk lamp base for favrile art glass shade:
$2950.00

i have for sale this very nice and in original patina, tiffany studios counterbalance bronze desk lamp base. its without dents dings or any damage and in fine working order. its been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and retains its original geco socket and switch. it could probably stand to be clean up a little bit for those that like the new look but i will leave that to them. its signed 416 on the bottom which i assume is the model number as im not an advanced tiffany studios guy. all it needs is a shade and away you go. thanks for looking and please check out my other lighting options as well.

To all potential buyers:

is now charging 10% across the board for all transactions with acap of $750.00. For example:
If i sell an item for$5500.00, takes $550.00 and then PayPal takes 2.9% for another $159.50 -therefore, it costs $709.50 me to sell that item.

Solet\'s say I bought that item for $4,000.00 at an sale and its truly worth$5500.00.

Not bad...right?

But- $4,000.00 times the typical buyers premium of 20% at sale means i have$4800.00 init, then add in the and PayPal fees of $709.50 means I actually have$5509.50 in it now and I get the honor of losing $9.50 for my time, effort, risk, and knowledge.

Mypoint is, please understand when making offers on the best offer or buy it nowitems, that these costs are real to me and I\'m not trying to beat anybody up onprice, I\'m just trying to make a fair profit to keep this business of minegoing.

Therefore,if you have any questions towards payment options or arrangements,

Pleasefeel free to text or call me at607-738-3154.

IfI don\'t answer as i truly am a busy person, please leave a message and whatpayment options or arrangements you have in mind.

Please see my other quality lighting itemscurrently running.

buyers please rememberthat I am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation onyour part in knowing that there will be normal aging and minor imperfections towardsan item that is 75 to 100 years old. Chances are if there aren\'t any, it\'s anewer item and you shouldn\'t want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemishon some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flakemissing, please try and be reasonable. I really don\'t want to do a refundbecause the finial ( typically a 10.00 piece ) isn\'t perfect on a 2,000.00lamp. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports andsometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as theaforementioned sentence. It seems the more experienced an antique dealer orbuyer is, the more understanding of condition they are. That being said, if youthink you\'re going to be a difficult buyer because you want perfection in a 100year old piece, please purchase another seller\'s product. has made itvery difficult for sellers in the past few years yet I\'m a good seller whowants to be fair and all I ask for is a fair buyer to do business with. Thanksfor your understanding.

Ifthe winning buyer is from the Northeast I would like to try and get thispicked up or delivered if possible.

There are a few things inlife we can’t do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary lightfor it, that’s where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my meansbut surrounded by items of great quality. I would rather own a great reversepainted lamp or Stickley bookcase than drive a foreign car that will onlydepreciate in value and cost me good money for repairs and maintenance. Or pay$40,000 in property taxes a year on a 7,000 square foot home that I only use2500 sq. ft. of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that.

So why is it people goout and spend say $500.00 bucks ona pair of lamps that in ten years will be in a rummage sale with the hopes ofgetting $15.00 for the pair. Why not spend $1,000 on a lamp and have somethingmeaningful, and when you tire of it ten years later, sell it, and get your moneyback in its entirety or even make a profit on top of the investment. Not tomention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makesinfinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have aconversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have morecultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can neverbe duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, likeit left for this world and now it’s yours. You own it. You display it and carefor it. It becomes part of you so to speak versus a throw away item that waspurchased at Raymour and Flanigan, Sears, Macy’s or Walmart.

So again that’s where Icome in. lighting. Great period lightingwhen electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley andHubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another withthis new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale andkerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in theworld were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when itsdark. I can’t control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when itcomes up or goes down, and whether it’s cloudy or not, but I can control thelight in my home when its dark. and like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. and I want to see those items lit by greatlighting. It’s what makes a home more outstanding and livable because withoutit you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You canhave the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, butwithout great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it. Buy quality and youwill never regret it.
