I have the famous GHS echo cuckoo, clock with two cuckoos and 4 bellows/pipes to sell,
the clock is as it was found, it is a extremely rare cuckoo clockboth cuckoos are present, but the littele cuckoo outsiden needs some restoration, a part of the head is missing, the case is in very good condition, the wooden bird on the top is lostThe clock is called an echo cuckoo. An echo cuckoo mimics the mating call of the cuckoo bird in the wild... First with a call, and then a second call echoing back in the forest. All echo cuckoo clocks are rare... But this one is a cut above. It not only has 4 bellows/pipes but also has two moving birds.
The first bird appears behind the cuckoo door, traditionally. The second bird sits exposed in the small house to the left of the cuckoo door. The exposed bird moves with the echo or call back. This is the only model of an echo I know of that uses two birds. The clock can also be seen in the GHS factory catalog from 1900. The movement is marked GHSonly 3 days
The clock has a nice matching set of 4 bellows and pipes.
