This ring is one of the oldest I have owned, it is a genuine art deco original, but made in Europe, with the hallmarks placed on the outside of the band, in the early European style. The gem is most likely to be faceted glass, cut in a simple early facet. The setting is typical of the art deco period, with a simple style, the use of clean, almost stark lines, and differing planes as an integral part of the design.

Picture three shows the plain setting with straight lines formed up from the solid silver undergallery, two of the lines continuing up to form thick claws to hold the gem.There is a thick silver side section attched to the undergallery which has been embellished by indenting. Outside this decoration is a plain silver shoulder attached to the top of the band, which supports and strengthens the design. The ring is in remarkable condition for its great age, with a little silver loss on the back of the band, and some rubbing on the top facet of the gem.

The ring is quite a small size, being 6.75 (US) or slightly larger than an M (English sizing) This is a genuine collector\'s item, pieces this old only rarely available outside specialist sales. Because of the value of the ring, I will only send it with insurance.

The ringbox pictured is not included in the sale but your purchase will be well packed for transit. As I use recycled packaging, I do not charge for packing and handling, just the cost at the post office. I recommend registered post or extra cover insurance for the added security, the insurance is an extra $1.50, as I am not in a position to refund should your purchase be lost in the mail.If you would like insurance, please let me know before making payment.
