This is a vintage to antique large chenille bottlebrush branched pink Christmas tree. This is extremely unusual and very very rare. Iwill do my best to describe however a comparable item has not been found so my words are anhonest description of what Isee, know, and don\'tknow. First, the height isapproximately 60 to 65" (5 to 5.5 foot) tall without a stand. The stand is not included.Next, the color is a shade of pinkwith white.The pink sometimes looks a little salmon depending onthe lighting in the room. Sometimes it lookspinker thanothers.The tree is old so thewhite will notbe pristine or stark white. Picture 19 is the best color and shape representation. I have been told by serious collectors that they have only ever seen this sort of tree in a green color and never this pink before. The material of the branches is what feels to me like a softer bottle brush with various lengths of fibers.These are not stiff and prickly butare soft. The tree has been reinforced over the years with pink electrical or masking tape and a bit of black tape. There have been repairs with a dowel stick at one point to strengthen the tip of the tree. I don\'t know what the treelooked like at its birth or how much has changed and I don\'t know what structural supportis beneath it all. Thistree has a floppylook andis not at all straightand strong. It has a distinct charm exactly because ofthe floppy whimsical form. It has been stored ina clean, smoke free and pet freeEnvironment for at least the last 20 years so it has no offensive odors. You willlikely need to add tape when youput this tree up. I haveused lights andvintage ornamentsthe 2 years I used thistree and got constantcompliments from everyone.Irescued this tree years ago in theold Victorian Village neighborhood in Columbus Ohio where it had been gracing the massive attic of a grand old home in the historic Victorian Village neighborhood. My instinct is to call this a "feather" tree but it is really not a lot like a feather tree. Or I could call it a bottle brush tree but again, it is not at all like the bottle brush trees you will find in a search. Theage of the tree from talking withwhom I acquired the tree along with other sketchy research will put this about 1910 to 1935.The origin isquite possibly German butcannot be guaranteed. Iwould love to hear from anyoneout there that has more definative information on thisamazing vintage Christmas tree. It is quite a mystery.I don\'t normally set a reserve price but I am very torn about selling this as I truly love it!I will likely keep this if it fails tosell at this sale.
