The side Axis is a very heavy metal - a Cast Iron w gold gilt or a Brass

I have attempted to get an exact date byreviewing the web site reference of the changing country names. I thought I gotan exact year of 1953, but now I am thinking it is later in the 1950’s.

Condition: Wonderful vintage piece, but does show wear. Sincethis one is a cardboard sphere, not glass or tin, it does show age wear alongthe center line, and it also shows some wear lines at the poles. The cartography covering the sphere showswear in these areas, and also a few scuffs in other places. The scuff I noticed was on Mongolia. There could be others, but this is the onlyadditional one I found, except from the previously noted scuffs at the center andat the poles. The colors are still bright and vivid, but I would imagine thatit has some soiling – definitely some dust has gathered over the many decades. Thebrass side piece is fabulous looking. The tin base is very good. This vintage piece does not spin as fast as a new one. You have to manually move itto spin.

Due to the size of the globe and the size of thebox needed for protective packaging, the shipping will be a bit more.

Will weigh over 6 pounds, but under 7. Can send parcel or Priority. No handling fees.
