One packet for Turnips Seeds – Purple top White Globe and One packet for Black Seeded Simpson Lettuce

Condition: both have been opened and the seeds are gone – packets are clean and unmarked in very good condition / please see all of the scans / I tried to get close ups of the stamp that may show you the exact age

A very kind er sent me some information on the historyof the Sabetha Seed. A summary of that information follows. A sincere thank youto the er – so kind of you to write -

Sabetha Seed Co: thebusiness was started about 1908 and was originally call Jesse Lines SeedCo. Exact point of name change toSabetha Seed Company unknown – Company sold to Earl May Seed and Nursery andmoved to the Earl May Garden Center and Nursery home offices in Shenandoah,Iowa in 1988 where the Earl May name then appeared on all seed packets.

I also receive this additional information. I very much thank the kind er for providing this additional information:

Myfather and a business partner purchased the Sabetha Seed Company in the mid1960\'s, (1964 I believe, I was four years old then) and if I remeber right itwas already named as such. The previous owners I believe were named Glace. Theyran it several years until my Father got out of the business a few years beforeit sold to Earl may. Interesting that you found these, as I don\'t believe thatthey were sold that far east in Missouri, although I didn\'t have much to dowith the business. If you or anyone else wants any more history on these, I amsure, with all my relatives, I can probably find an answer for you.
