sale IS FOR:AUTOGRAPHED BASEBALL • LOU FIENE / CHICAGO WHITE SOXWITH COA FROM JSA
Lou FieneBorn December 29, 1884Died December 22, 1964He was a pitcher in MLB and played from 1906-1909 for the Chicago White Sox.

Fiene was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Known as "Big Finn," he started his professional baseball career in 1904. That season, he led the Illinois-Indiana-Iowa League in wins (23) and earned run average (2.45). He joined the American Association’s Toledo Mud Hens, and in 1905, he went 11-13.

Fiene was then purchased by the White Sox. In spring training of 1906, he claimed to have mastered the spitball pitch. He pitched in just six games that season, going 1–1, while Chicago won the World Series. Fiene didn't pitch much in 1907, either. He spent most of 1908 back in the American Association with the Minneapolis Millers, and he won 20 games. That performance earned him a roster spot on the White Sox again. In 1909, he pitched a career-high 72 innings in the major leagues and went 2–5.

In 1910, Fiene went back to Minneapolis and compiled a record of 15–6. He hurt his arm after that and ended up playing a first base and in the outfield for a few years.

Fiene died in Chicago, at the age of 79 in 1964.

This is not actually an "Estate Find," but part of my father's Estate. The baseball card of Bill Hayes (my late father) with JoeDimaggio isINFORMATIONAL ONLY AND NOT PART OF THIS sale. NOT FOR SALE.
MY dad was part of the NY Yankees organization in the 1930s. He has left the world (and me) with tons of baseball related and quite impressive, well and safely stored, items like this RARE AUTOGRAPHED BASEBALL OF A PLAYER WHO PLAYED BASEBALL AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY.
OFFICIAL BIG STATE LEAGUE BALL...Lou Fiene likely signed this for my father during hisinvolvement with thisleague. Both men were entrenched in baseball their entire lives. It's not surprising, based upon the letters and other items I am finding as part of his estate from so many players who called my dad "friend." Including Lou Gehrig (they played at the same time, same base ...for the NY Yankees...I sold a beautiful 8X10 of LG "To Bill"..where he inscribes that he hopes my dad fills his uniform one day). The Big State League operated between 1947 and 1957. This was signed sometimeduring that time frame.
